Understanding the Importance of Precision Forging

Precision forging is the working on metals in a close to give final shape or sometimes close-tolerance to the forging way. It’s a refinement of forging techniques compared to traditional closed forging technology. When a customer needs a product with a net shape or near net shape, then precision forging is the best choice to avail. Such forging technique will refine the machinery product to a little machining or no machining at all.
Precision Forgings Company was established in Chennai, India in the year 1977. The company started its working with screw press having a weight of about 150 Ton to manufacture small components having a weight of maximum 400 grams. Now it has changed from a small screw press company to a forge shop with increased number of machines including Screw press and Drops Hammers of different capacity, thereby increasing the total potential of the plant up to 2400 MT every year. When the company started, it manufactured forgings from alloy steels and carbon only. Later it has developed the ability to forge many more materials like Brass, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, and Copper. There are many precision forming companies available in India, and abroad which mainly deals with customer satisfaction.
Advantages of precision forging
Excellent working performance: The metal fiber on the parts that are produced by precision forging is evenly distributed along the outline shape. These fibers are continuous and dense.
High utilization of material: As precision forging documents are without flash, the items can be forged into any desired shape after deformation of plastic. Some parts although may require a small amount of machining after the forging, but some can materials can be used directly, where no machining is required.
High precision: We can get high accuracy after precision forging with very less or no machining work, and we can get the net shape or near net shape products.
Availability of complicated shape parts: Precision forging process can produce more complex shape forging when compared to conventional forging process which is limited to the production of simple shapes.
